On 24 March 2026, a delegation of staff and students from China University of Mining and Technology visited our company for a site visit and technical exchange.
As a research base established through collaboration between industry and academia, Frey has, since its inception, established a mechanism for in-depth collaborative education with China University of Mining and Technology. The two parties work closely together on scientific research, the sharing of research outcomes and the joint training of talent, continuously broadening the pathways for the integration of industry and education.
This event aims to further enhance the effectiveness of university-industry collaboration in education, establish an efficient platform for bridging classroom theory with industrial practice, and support talent development and high-quality industrial growth in the new energy sector.
Visiting the front line: a field study trip
Our company extends a warm welcome to the faculty and students from the University of Mining and Technology and has arranged for a specialist team to provide guidance and commentary throughout the visit.
The teachers and students visited the exhibition hall, the battery cell production workshop and the battery pack assembly line, gaining a close-up understanding of the entire production process for lithium-ion batteries—from cell manufacturing to module integration and final assembly—and gaining a first-hand insight into the standardised production and meticulous on-site management.
Representatives from the company provided a detailed explanation of the product features, manufacturing processes and market applications of core products—including power supplies for mining equipment, energy storage systems and batteries for industrial vehicles—drawing on industry applications and real-world operating conditions.
Learning in Action: Building a Shared Future
This event has effectively fostered a deep integration of classroom theory and industrial practice, further broadening the students’ professional horizons and strengthening their practical and industry-specific understanding.
In the future, Frey will continue to strengthen its exchanges and collaboration with leading universities, constantly refine its industry-academia collaborative education system, and work together to make a solid contribution to the high-quality development of the new energy and mining equipment sectors.
To date, Frey has established industry-academia-research collaboration bases with several renowned domestic and international research institutions, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China University of Mining and Technology, and Germany’s Next Energy, and has been approved as a Jiangsu Provincial Postdoctoral Innovation Base. The company has successively established the Frey System Control Research Institute and the Xuzhou Lithium Battery Engineering Technology Research Centre, which house specialised research institutes focusing on electrode materials, separators, electrolytes and battery management systems. It has assembled a high-calibre R&D team comprising 15 professors, PhDs and senior industry engineers.
