This month, China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) continued its series of practical study programs. Following earlier visits by faculty and students from the Applied Chemistry and Energy Chemical Engineering departments of the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, another delegation—this time from the School of Materials Science and Physics—visited Frey for an on-site tour and technical exchange.
As a designated industry–academia–research collaboration base jointly established with CUMT, Frey regularly hosts the university’s practical teaching activities. Through standardized visitor programs and professional technical presentations, Frey continues to strengthen a collaborative platform for university–enterprise education. These initiatives enable successive groups of CUMT students to gain firsthand industry experience, deepen their professional understanding, and contribute to a mutually empowering model of industry–education integration.
The steady stream of young students entering the workplace and engaging with frontline operations not only injects fresh energy into Frey’s innovation and development but also continues to broaden and deepen cooperation between the university and the company.
Accompanied by Frey’s technical team, the delegation first toured the company’s brand exhibition hall. There, they gained a comprehensive understanding of Frey’s development history, core product portfolio, technological strengths, and market presence in the fields of specialized lithium batteries and energy storage power solutions. The visit provided an up-close view of the company’s accumulated expertise and innovative capabilities in safe new-energy storage.
Regular study-tour programs and standardized demonstrations of technological achievements have further strengthened the role of the company as a platform for collaborative education. The delegation then visited Frey’s intelligent manufacturing workshop, where they observed the automated and precision-controlled production process for lithium battery products.
From PACK assembly and process treatment to performance testing and final product release, every stage was carried out efficiently, systematically, and in accordance with rigorous standards.
Drawing on the actual production environment, Frey’s staff provided detailed explanations of mainstream lithium battery manufacturing processes, key technical principles, and quality-control standards. By closely connecting classroom theory with real-world industrial practices, the visit helped students overcome gaps in their understanding and gain direct insight into the core logic and technical requirements of industrial-scale lithium battery production.
Following the site tour, representatives from Frey and CUMT held a dedicated technical seminar. Using a detailed presentation, Frey’s technical specialists introduced the visiting faculty and students to the fundamentals of mainstream lithium battery technologies, the characteristics of core materials, complete manufacturing processes, and major industry applications. The session offered a comprehensive overview of the entire lithium battery value chain—from fundamental research and development to commercial-scale production.
During the presentation, the technical team drew on industry trends and Frey’s practical experience to explain the direction of lithium battery technology development, key challenges in industrial applications, and the sector’s evolving demand for skilled professionals in a clear and accessible manner.
Faculty members and students actively participated in the discussion, raising questions and exchanging ideas on specialized technologies, process development, and industry trends. Through face-to-face technical dialogue, the participants broadened their professional perspectives, strengthened their understanding of the industry, and gained valuable practical knowledge.
Successive groups of students have visited Frey, turning each exchange into a meaningful step toward deeper cooperation. The multiple study visits by CUMT faculty and students this month demonstrate the highly stable, regular, and far-reaching partnership between Frey and China University of Mining and Technology.
Since Frey’s establishment, the two parties have maintained a strong focus on joint research, commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and collaborative talent development. Together, they have continued to expand pathways for integrating industry and education, making industrial practice an essential component of university talent cultivation.
