According to the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, from July to August 2023, China's lithium-ion battery (hereinafter referred to as "lithium battery") industry continued to grow. According to the lithium battery industry specification announcement enterprise information and industry association estimates, the total output of lithium batteries in the country in July-August exceeded 180GWh, an increase of 23%.

   
       In the lithium battery segment, the output of energy storage lithium batteries exceeded 33GWh from July to August, and the loading capacity of power type lithium batteries for new energy vehicles was about 67GWh. The export trade continued to grow, and the total export of lithium batteries in the country reached 76.57 billion yuan from July to August, an increase of 17%.

    In the first-stage material link, the output of positive electrode material, negative electrode material, diaphragm and electrolyte reached 400,000 tons, 280,000 tons, 2.5 billion square meters and 180,000 tons respectively in July-August, with an increase of more than 20%.

       In the second-order material link, the output of battery grade lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide in July-August was about 90,000 tons and 50,000 tons, respectively, and the average price of battery grade lithium carbonate and battery grade lithium hydroxide (micro-powder grade) was 271,000 yuan/ton and 265,000 yuan/ton, respectively.

 
     According to the summary information, the total output of lithium batteries in the country from January to August exceeded 580GWh, an increase of 37%, of which the output of lithium batteries for energy storage was about 110GWh.
