Honing Artistic Craftsmanship, Empowering All-Round Development | Frey’s Third Skills Competition Concludes Successfully

On 17 July, Jiangsu Frey Battery Technology Co., Ltd. successfully concluded all events of its third Skills Competition and held a closing ceremony and awards presentation.
Held under the theme ‘Refining Artistry, Empowering All-Round Growth’, this skills competition served not only as a contest of professional skills but also as a training exercise to foster team cohesion and inspire a spirit of progress. As a national ‘Specialised, Refined, Unique and Innovative’ (SRUI) ‘Little Giant’ enterprise with 16 years of deep-rooted experience in the lithium-ion battery industry, Frey has long specialised in the research, development and production of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) power batteries, battery packs and power management systems, consistently adhering to its quality policy of ‘Precision Manufacturing, Zero Defects, Sincere Service’.
Centred on the practical realities of production roles, this competition combines a theoretical written examination with practical skills assessments to comprehensively evaluate employees’ theoretical knowledge, job-specific skills, quality awareness and ability to comply with safety regulations. The written theory examination covers electrical principles, wiring diagrams, basic equipment knowledge, product assembly processes, quality control standards, work safety regulations and operational rules and regulations. The practical skills assessment centres on eight key roles: power cable fabrication, welding and rewiring, module soldering, PDU assembly, small battery pack assembly, lithium power supply assembly, charger assembly and testing. It is conducted using a combination of compulsory basic tasks for all participants and optional additional tests.
At the opening ceremony, Mr Yao, Chairman of Frey, expressed three hopes for the competitors: to strictly adhere to standards and demonstrate professionalism; to strive for excellence and display their best form; and to put their learning into practice and achieve tangible results. With the official opening of the competition, a series of contests focusing on job skills, quality standards and practical proficiency unfolded in an orderly manner.
Throughout the competition, the contestants remained composed and adhered strictly to procedures. From material identification and process execution to harness organisation, welding quality, fault diagnosis and the appearance of the finished products, every stage demonstrated a meticulous and rigorous approach to their work. To ensure the competition was conducted fairly, impartially, in accordance with regulations and in an orderly manner, the event was organised through the coordinated efforts of the Leading Group, the Question-Setting Group, the Competition Administration Group and the Judging Panel, each with their own specific responsibilities. From the coordination of plans and the compilation of the question bank to the organisation of the competition schedule, on-site support and professional marking, each team fulfilled its respective duties, providing robust support for the smooth running of the event. An honour bears witness to a composed performance on the competition floor; a certificate embodies the relentless refinement achieved through daily work. Following a comprehensive assessment comprising both theoretical examinations and practical assessments, the list of winners for this competition has been officially announced.
The awards ceremony not only recognises outstanding participants, but also enables more staff to see role models, benchmark against the best and boost their motivation. At the ceremony, the company congratulated the award winners and expressed its gratitude to all participants who took an active part in the competition, the referees who officiated diligently, and the support staff who ensured the smooth running of the event.
Competition on the arena is a training ground; excelling in one’s role is the real battlefield. During the competition, participants observed one another’s techniques and exchanged experiences; by identifying gaps through competition and driving improvement through debriefing, they further fostered a positive momentum of emulating, learning from, and striving to surpass one another for mutual progress. This skills competition has not only provided a platform for staff to learn new skills and exchange ideas, but has also further strengthened everyone’s awareness of standards, quality and work safety principles. Contestants have unanimously stated that participating in this competition has given them a deeper understanding of job standards, technical details and quality control, which will be of great assistance in refining their working methods and enhancing their professional standards in the future.
